Summary:
-
Demonstrate superior technical skills in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting.
-
Teach the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per engineering specifications drawings and maintenance manuals.
-
Ensure quality and efficiency of all installations; troubleshoot and teach troubleshooting processes to provide timely high-quality repairs.
-
Effectively repair or replace defective components and wiring to meet conformity standards; utilize acceptable practices including splicing soldering and pinning of wiring.
-
Oversee compliance with engineering changes and modifications.
-
Set up and operate test equipment; conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
-
Maintain daily logs and other documentation; ensure work is properly and completely documented.
-
Pre-inspect work of others to reduce rework and inspection time.
-
Maintain and troubleshoot test equipment and electronic systems as required.
-
Enforce company FOD program tool control program 5S program and all safety regulations.
-
Adapt to schedule changes and coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects.
-
Teach installation and functional testing of avionics/electrical components to others as needed.
-
Self-inspect all avionics testing functions within assigned areas.
-
Support aircraft certification and final phase testing including potential flight tests as required.
Requirements:
-
High School Diploma or GED required
-
5 years of experience in avionics/electrical fields
-
2 years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics may offset 2 years of experience
-
A&P license FCC license or NCATT certification preferred
-
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Skills:
-
Proficiency in operation and troubleshooting of non-avionics systems (hydraulics landing gear flight controls environmental controls structural installations).
-
APU run qualification and engine run qualification preferred.
-
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
