Summary:
-
Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts and assemblies
-
Interpret blueprints sketches and engineering specifications to determine sequence of operations and tooling requirements
-
Perform standard shop calculations for dimensions tooling feeds and speeds
-
Measure mark and scribe stock for machining using precision measuring instruments (calipers micrometers height gauges etc.)
-
Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical assemblies and determine necessary materials tools and equipment
-
Monitor and verify part quality using statistical process control (SPC) or other quality control procedures
-
Operate and maintain a variety of hand tools machine tools and precision instruments
-
Perform routine inspections of finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances
-
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot machining issues and improve processes
Requirements:
-
Training will be provided to enable employees to perform all necessary functions
-
Some tasks may involve monitoring and adjusting CNC machines or performing quality checks throughout the production process
-
Commitment to safety and proper machine operation is essential
-
Completion of a formal apprenticeship in machining or equivalent training and experience
-
Experience with manual and CNC machining preferred
-
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings blueprints and schematics
-
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and shop mathematics
-
Familiarity with standard machinist tools and techniques
-
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
-
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
