Job Details:
Rheumatologist
Perform medical examinations. evaluations. assessments diagnosis and treatment to assigned health system patients. Prescribe pharmaceuticals other medications and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions. Direct and coordinate patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required. Communicate patient care plans and treatments with referring Primary Care Physicians or other referring physicians. Participate in specified health promotion education and/or prevention programs. Follow established departmental policies procedures objectives continuous quality improvement objectives safety environmental and/or infection control standards. Provide physician services to assigned clinics as designed by Med. Center when mutually agreed upon by Physician and Med. Center. Admit patients for hospital stays and attend inpatient consults in areas of specialty. Communicate with patients primary care physicians upon admission when treatment plans change or at discharge to maintain continuity and quality of care. Diagnose treat or provide continuous care lo hospital inpatients. Attend inpatient consultations in areas of specialty. Order or interpret the results of tests such as lab tests and radiographs. Prescribe medications or treatment regimens to hospital inpatients. Write patient discharge summaries and send them to primary care physicians. Train or supervise medical students residents or other health professionals. Direct the operations of short stay or specialty units
Minimum Prerequisites:
- MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
- Completion of residency training program in internal medicine.
- Completion of a fellowship program in rheumatology
- Iowa medical license and ability to obtain staff privileges at Great River Medical Center
