We are seeking a full-time Real Estate Law Clerk for a maternity leave replacement with over two years of experience in real estate law. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude be a self-starter and be enthusiastic about this area of practice.
What youll do
You will be responsible for the day-to-day and general responsibilities of processing all real estate transactions from beginning to end including the preparation of all documentation and correspondence including:
Completing real estate transactions from beginning to end including residential purchases and sales commercial purchases and sales power of sales and mortgages and the documentation required.
Preparing all documents including correspondence with utility companies and municipalities; drafting Transfers mortgages discharges land transfer tax affidavits title insurance applications and other related documents; and drafting reports accounts and trust statements to clients and reports to mortgagees.
Preparing other specific real estate documents as required including Powers of Attorney Assignments of Mortgage Survivorship Applications Transmission Applications Deposits Applications to Register Caution and Postponements of Mortgage.
What youll need
Knowledge of real estate conveyancing and title issues as well as zoning and building by-laws restrictions and guidelines.
Ability and knowledge necessary to assist solicitors in completing real estate transactions.
Ability to work with and receive instructions from a large number of supervisors.
Ability to set priorities and flexibility in managing changing priorities.
Initiative in identifying potential problems and resolving them.
Strong organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Basic knowledge of litigation family and commercial law as it relates to real estate.
High stress tolerance.
Ability to work with a wide variety of personalities including financial institutions municipalities clients and colleagues.
All work is performed in a hybrid environment and overtime may be required as necessary.
