Job Description:

CART is an innovative therapy that leverages a patients own immune system to fight cancer. By genetically modifying a patients Tcells to recognize and destroy cancer cells this transformative technology offers new hope to patients who have exhausted other treatment options.

As an Industrial IT Systems Engineer you play a central role in managing and improving our ISA95 Level 1 & 2 operational technology (OT) landscape across the Ghent sites. You ensure that existing OT applications remain stable secure and compliant while also supporting the introduction and integration of new systems into daily operations.

Working closely with engineering IT QA cybersecurity and external vendors you help deliver a reliable futureproof and continuously improving OT environment. You combine strong technical insight with structured execution and a handson approach when needed.

Tasks and Authorizations

Oversee and support key industrial IT applications to ensure stable compliant and reliable operations.
Resolve system issues and drive improvements that enhance system performance and availability.
Participate in a rotating weekend oncall service to help safeguard system continuity.
Manage essential lifecycle activities including configuration monitoring documentation and user management.
Collaborate with IT engineering and vendors on system upgrades integrations and the deployment of new OT applications.
Support commissioning testing validation and readiness activities for newly implemented or updated systems.
Contribute to deviations CAPAs investigations audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding system health risks and project progress.

Qualifications

The following skills are essential to perform the core responsibilities of this role.

Experience with OT or industrial IT systems in a manufacturing or regulated environment.
Solid grasp of network fundamentals (TCP/IP VLANs routing segmentation firewalls).
Ability to work with scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell Python) to automate routine tasks.

The skills below are not mandatory but provide a strong advantage in this role.

Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry (GxP GAMP qualification etc.)
Knowledge of particle monitoring platformsideally LMS Pharma (SE Geoscada)
Understanding of Windows Serverbased applications including basic troubleshooting and system administration.
Familiarity with data historian solutions such as AVEVA PI or similar timeseries data platforms.
Awareness of cybersecurity principles (NIS2 ISA95 Purdue Model) is an asset.
Working knowledge of Active Directory for user and access management.
Knowledge of used backup/recovery solutions in OT environments.
Experience with OT monitoring tools (e.g.: PRTG)
