Job Summary
Maintenance Technician Steel Processing Facility (Tube Mills Slitters and Recutting machines)Overview: Were looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician in the Detroit Michigan area to support equipment reliability in our tube making operations. This role performs preventive maintenance troubleshoots production machinery and ensures equipment runs safely to support daily manufacturing Responsibilities: Perform preventive maintenance specific work orders or breakdown maintenance on various types of tube making and support equipment such as electrical drive systems motors gearboxes hydraulic equipment and automated systems. Diagnose and repair mechanical hydraulic electrical and pneumatic issues to minimize production downtime. Support production lines by responding quickly to breakdowns and performing root-cause troubleshooting. Support production lines by completing operational and safety work orders. Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders thru the filling out of a maintenance log or using a CMMS. Follow manufacturing safety standards including Lockout Tagout procedures Arc Flash precautions machine guarding and proper PPE : High school diploma/GED; technical training preferred. 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read blueprints schematics and equipment manuals. Experience with hand tools power tools and diagnostic Skills: Experience with PLC-controlled equipment steel processing equipment or high production volume manufacturing systems. PLC trouble shooting hydraulic systems machine mechanicals welding or fabrication skills. Technical certifications (HVAC electrical mechanical) are a Environment:Steel processing type environment with exposure to machinery overhead cranes noise and varying temperatures. PPE is provided and required on the plant floor.
