HOTEL DESCRIPTION
The 355-key Manado Marriott Resort & Spa will be part of a mixed-use mega development that will comprise of resorts retail village eco-park Agro-tourism fruit farming flower garden and paddy fields. It also offers good proximity to the shopping retail options and the international airport in the Manado area. The resort offers 4 Food and Beverage options 5 function space with total event space of 1408SM. Other than swimming pool and fitness centre the resort also comes with kids club and Quan Spa.
JOB SUMMARY
The Social Events Sales Manager is responsible for proactively generating revenue from social events such as birthdays anniversaries baby showers reunions family gatherings private dinners and other celebrations excluding weddings. The role ensures that confirmed business is properly transitioned to the operations team in a timely manner to support seamless service delivery.
This position manages the sales process from initial enquiry through event execution while building and maintaining strong relationships with new and repeat clients event planners and community partners. The Social Events Sales Manager supports the daily sales activities related to social events and is accountable for achieving individual sales targets.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration Marketing Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major; 3 years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
OR
4-year bachelors degree in Business Administration Marketing Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major; 1 year experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Building Successful Relationships that Generate Sales Opportunities
Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure sales efforts are coordinated complementary and not duplicative.
Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include representing the hotel fairs networking events and promotional activities.
Develops relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for social events sales opportunities.
Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Respond to inquiries for social events such as birthdays anniversaries baby showers reunions family dinners private dinners and other celebrations (excluding wedding).
Responsible in handling all social events enquiries via email social media phone and other digital platforms.
Conduct venue tours/ site inspections and presentations for prospective clients
Managing Sales Activities and Event Planning & Coordination
Participates in sales calls with members of sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business.
Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g. generating proposal writing contract customer correspondence).
Build and maintain relationships with event planners vendors and partners.
Coordinate closely with operations and events team to ensure smooth event execution
Coordinate event details including catering décor entertainment and logistics.
Manage event timelines set up requirements and service flow
Negotiate pricing packages and contract terms with clients.
Attend and supervise events when required to ensure smooth execution
Using Knowledge of Market Trends and Target Customer Information to Maximize Revenue
Identifies new business to achieve personal and location revenue goals.
Understands the overall market - competitors strengths and weaknesses economic trends supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.
Closes the best opportunities for the location based on market conditions and location needs.
Gains understanding of the locations primary target customer and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business business issues and concerns to offer better business solution.

Supports the companys service and relationship strategy driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
