Job Summary

Our client is a leading Contractor seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate electrical cost estimates for a range of construction projects supporting the tendering process and ensuring commercially competitive and technically compliant bids.

This role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical systems within construction projects as well as the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams subcontractors and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates for construction projects across sectors such as commercial industrial infrastructure or public sector developments.
Review and analyse tender documentation drawings specifications and employer requirements.
Quantify electrical works including power distribution lighting containment fire alarms data systems and associated infrastructure.
Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Produce Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and pricing schedules.
Identify project risks value engineering opportunities and cost efficiencies.
Liaise with design teams engineers project managers and procurement teams during the tender process.
Prepare tender submissions and supporting documentation in line with company procedures.
Attend pre-tender meetings site visits and client presentations where required.
Maintain a strong understanding of current market pricing materials and labour costs.
Support the handover of successful tenders to the delivery and commercial teams.

Requirements

Essential

Electrical Estimating experience within a main contractor M&E contractor or construction environment
Knowledge of electrical building services and construction methods
Ability to interpret drawings specifications and tender documents
Experience producing take-offs cost plans and detailed estimates
Commercial awareness of construction contracts and procurement

Desirable

Experience on large construction or infrastructure projects
Familiar with estimating tools (e.g. Trimble Conquest)
HNC/HND or degree in Electrical Engineering Building Services or Construction
Professional membership (e.g. CIBSE IET)
