The Consultant VAT Recovery plays a key role in supporting clients with value-added tax (VAT) and transaction analysis. This position focuses on identifying inefficiencies reviewing financial transactions and helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of client account ledgers.
Working as part of a collaborative team you will contribute to analyzing transaction streams across areas such as VAT duplicate payments and supplier balance reconciliations. The objective of Ryans Recovery Audit is to identify and help correct transactions that may have resulted in unnecessary costs for our clients including national and international VAT matters incorrect payments and unused credit notes.
This role is well-suited to early-career professionals who are looking to build their VAT and financial analysis expertise within a supportive and structured environment. Ongoing training and mentorship will be provided to support your professional development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support VAT reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement and contribute to enhancing compliance and operational efficiency.
- Assist in preparing VAT compliance work and supporting client deliverables ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Gather and analyze financial and operational data to help identify efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop an understanding of VAT regulations and legislation contributing to the preparation of accurate and timely advice to clients.
- Stay informed on VAT developments and regulatory updates supported by ongoing learning and guidance from senior team members.
- Collaborate with colleagues across finance legal and tax teams to deliver integrated VAT solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree (or final-year student) in Tax Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail with an interest in developing expertise in VAT and indirect tax matters.
- Ability to prioritize tasks work collaboratively within a team and manage deadlines effectively.
Computer Skills:
- To perform this job successfully an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word Access Excel PowerPoint Outlook and Internet navigation and research.
