Job Summary:
ThePaint Shop Leadmanin a manufacturing setting oversees painting operations ensuring high-quality finishes adherence to production schedules and compliance with safety standards. This role involves supervising a team of painters and technicians managing materials and maintaining equipment to support efficient workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and Coordinate: Oversee daily painting operations ensuring production goals and quality standards are met.
- Assign Tasks & Lead Team: Distribute work assignments train employees and monitor performance to ensure efficiency.
- Quality Control: Inspect surfaces before and after painting ensuring proper application and adherence to specifications.
- Surface Preparation: Ensure materials are properly prepped including sanding priming and masking for optimal paint adhesion.
- Paint Application: Oversee the correct preparation and application of paints coatings and finishes according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain powder coating guns booths and other painting equipment ensuring proper function and minimizing downtime.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce OSHA and company safety protocols ensuring the Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used and handling of hazardous materials.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency reduce waste and enhance finish quality.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of completed work and material usage.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in industrial painting within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of various painting techniques materials and equipment.
- Ability to read and complete work orders and technical specifications.
- Understanding of safety regulations and hazardous material handling.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to stand bend and lift heavy materials for extended periods.
