Cycle Training Technician

East Sussex Road Safety Team are looking for a Cycle Training Technician to join their growing Cycle Training Team. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for cycling and experience in cycle maintenance as well as a positive attitude. This role will enjoy flexible working time outdoors and the chance to inspire kids and young adults.

The role of Cycle Training Technician will promote all aspects of cycle training including the maintenance of a varied fleet of standard bicycles adapted cycles and e-bikes and to assist with the running of cycle training holiday courses led bike rides and events at Eastbourne Sports Park and other centres to meet the County Councils targets for cycle training and assist towards the goals set by Active Travel England via Bikeability. The preferred Candidate will need to have a cytech technician qualification and be experienced in working with cycles on a regular basis along with an eye for detail.

The post involves working with clients from a variety of backgrounds with varying needs to ensure cycling activities and courses are inclusive for all. The Cycle Team have a large Wheels for All centre based at Eastbourne Sports Parks with regular sessions running on a Thursday and Friday. The role will include assisting the Cycle training Supervisor to run these sessions and support clients to access the adapted cycles.

We are looking for candidates who:

• Cytech technician qualification
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team and be able to develop professional relationships across teams and services to achieve shared aims
• Ability to converse at ease with the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English
• Full driving licence or the ability to demonstrate how you will meet the travelling needs of the role
