THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking expression of interest for this rare dual-pathway opportunity at Pāmus Tongariro organic dairy farm. During the application process well ask you to let us know your preference:

At the heart of this role is ownership - ownership of people performance and outcomes. Youll lead the day-to-day operation of one of Pāmus flagship organic dairy farms driving productivity profitability and sustainability while building a strong engaged team.
Whether employed or operating under a contract arrangement youll be responsible for business planning financial performance environmental leadership and delivery against long-term goals. Youll be supported by a Business Manager and work closely with your team while retaining the autonomy expected at this scale.
This opportunity will appeal to someone who enjoys thinking commercially leading from the front and running a large-scale dairy operation as if it were their own - balancing hands-on leadership with strategic decision-making. For the right person the structure of the role can be shaped to align with your experience aspirations and preferred operating model.
ABOUT US
Pāmu Landcorp Farming Limited is a State-Owned Enterprise with over 110 farms across New Zealand. Our purpose is to lead the delivery of innovative and sustainable agriculture solutions for future generations.
THE FARM
Tongariro Organic Dairy Farm is a 202 effective hectare organic property milking approximately 465 cows at peak through a 50-bail rotary shed equipped with Waikato ACRs and MilkHub technology. Tongariro Organic is part of the Moutoa Organic Complex a group of seven neighbouring farms that provide scale support and shared expertise.
The farm is well set up to support efficient herd management and modern farming practices.
Location is a standout - just 5 minutes from Foxton 10 minutes from Levin and 25 minutes from Palmerston North. With the Manawatū River nearby the area offers excellent lifestyle and recreational opportunities alongside a strong rural community.
ABOUT YOU
Youll be a capable values-led dairy professional who enjoys responsibility and takes pride in building a positive high-performing team environment.
You may be:
A Farm Manager with experience leading people and managing complex systems or
A Contract milker ready to step into a supported large-scale operation.
Youll bring:
Strong understanding of dairy systems and rural business performance
Experience or a strong interest in organic farming
A people-first leadership approach - you coach support and grow others
Confidence in budgeting forecasting and using data to guide decisions
A collaborative respectful leadership style that values different perspectives
Commitment to animal welfare health and safety and environmental care
The ability to build trusted relationships across teams and stakeholders
Comfort with technology and modern farming systems that enable better outcomes
