About the Role

The Receiving Material Handler will receive and inspect incoming material and inspect all shipments to ensure that they are received complete from the will also store pick and prepare material for shipments to Mexico.

What You Will Do

• Accurately receive all inbound shipments from freight carriers
• Note and report any shipment damages or discrepancies
• Open and inspect all inbound cartons and pallets and verify contents against packing lists
• Note and report any discrepancies to the Receiving Team Leader
• Store all Inbound material
• Pick material for orders bound to Mexico
• Loading and unloading trucks following safety rules
• Participate in 5S activities maintaining work area safe clean and in order
• Comply with all corporate and site-specific safety regulations

What You Need

• Prior experience in a Warehouse Distribution Center or other Logistics setting as a material handler
• Prior experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting. Preference for forklift operator certification
• Proficiency with shipping carrier systems (UPS FedEx local carriers)
• Knowledge of International Shipping requirements (customs duties Bill of Goods etc.)

Spellman takes safety seriously. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and addition the following Personal Protective Equipment is required depending on work environment:

• eye safety glasses
• hearing protection
• work boots with steel toe

This position requires on-site presence at Spellman High Voltage in Brownsville TX.

Shifts:

8am - 5pm typically. Willingness to work overtime (after hours and weekends) as needed.
