About us

Alfred Infant Child and Youth Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (ICYAMHWS) is friendly to infants children young people and their families/carers.

We provide accessible mental health services inclusive of family friends and support networks.

We are a specialist multi-disciplinary and intensive care mental health service incorporating the lived and living experience of family peer specialists and youth peer workers.

Our service is divided into two streams 0-11 and 12-26 years and includes specialist services in the areas of perinatal care neurodevelopmental presentations eating disorders and outreach support.

What youll be doing

This role helps put into action an important recommendation from the Victorian Royal Commission into Mental Health: to build stronger connections between Infant Child and Youth Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Services (ICYAMHWS) Youth Justice and Child Protection to provide direct Interventions consultation and system integration. It is expected the program will target some of the most vulnerable and at-risk young people. Many of these young people have underlying sometimes complex mental health needs and are often significantly overrepresented in both Child Protection and Youth Justice systems.

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic motivated and well organised person to work in partnership with the CFYMHS Psychiatrist to lead the CFYMH team to provide direct multidisciplinary interventions and primary and secondary consultation to service providers.

Along with the relevant professional registration or membership youll have 7 - 10 years experience working in the field of mental health. Relevant post -graduate qualifications are preferred.

Youll also have to complete/provide a valid VictorianWorking with Children Check be willing to undergo a background check and youll require Australian working rights.
