The Refrigeration SWQA Engineer will be responsible for embedded firmware testing of the appliance as it interacts with the rest of the connected appliance ecosystem (which includes mobile App and Cloud interactions). In this role the SWQA Engineer will ensure that all software implementations are fully verified and validated against the requirements and that all results are documented and communicated to the team. The SWQA Engineer will also design and maintain software solutions for automated regression testing and participate in the design and maintenance of test system hardware. Additionally the SWQA Engineer will be a consumer advocate for the refrigeration product line working closely with the Connected Embedded QA teams and Software development teams to promote excellent user experience. This role is based on-site in Louisville KY.

How Youll Create Possibilities

  • Create test plans to ensure software implementations meet design requirements.
  • Assist in root cause analysis by collecting data from various components in the system.
  • Consult on the design of Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) Load Boxes.
  • Create automated regression testing solutions using LabVIEW TestStand and other languages/frameworks such as Jasmine etc.
  • Develop large-scale applications to control data acquisition hardware and communicate with appliances over a communication bus.
  • Review test plans automation sequences and code changes made by team members.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings such as daily standups sprint planning sprint reviews and/or retrospectives as necessary.
  • Use and create AI assistants/agents for typical software testing tasks such as test plan development automation script development results analysis etc.

What Youll Bring to Our Team

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science or related field; or equivalent industry work experience.
  • 1 year of experience in testing embedded software.
  • Strong programming background.
  • Deep understanding of firmware/software development processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing requirements during the development process.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with development using LabVIEW TestStand C Python and JavaScript.
  • Hardware-in-the-loop Testing Experience.
  • Background in App and cloud integration with smart devices.
  • Experience with National Instruments hardware including Compact DAQ.
