BBVA is seeking an experienced Vice President to strengthen its Corporate Lending Germany franchise based in Frankfurt. The role sits within BBVAs regional Corporate Lending Germany platform with primary responsibility for originating structuring and executing corporate loan transactions for clients in Germany Austria Belgium The Netherlands and Switzerland.

This is a highly client-facing marketing driven and execution-oriented position suited to a proactive person. The role offers meaningful client exposure end-to-end ownership of transactions and the opportunity to actively support BBVAs corporate lending franchise by delivering tailored financing solutions to leading corporates and financial institutions.

About the job:

Key Responsibilities

Origination structuring and execution of corporate loan transactions including syndicated loans club loans bilateral loans sustainable loans and event driven financings.
Developing strong relationships with existing and prospect clients to understand their evolving financial needs and identify business opportunities.
Preparing pitch books and other marketing materials with the aim of winning mandates.
Structuring bespoke financing solutions tailored to clients specific requirements.
Negotiating terms and conditions with clients including commercial terms covenants and security packages.
Take ownership of day-to-day transaction execution of corporate loans ensuring alignment with clients strategic objectives capital structures and risk profiles.
Preparing proposals for business and credit committees.
Drafting/reviewing loan documentation and syndication materials such as term sheets facility agreements mandate letters invite letters and bank meeting presentations.
Coordinating with internal departments (e.g. client coverage loan syndicate and sales risk legal compliance tax sustainable finance market and administrative teams) and external stakeholders (e.g. clients banks and legal counsel) to ensure the seamless execution of transactions.
Coaching and mentoring junior team members fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.

Qualification & Experience

Bachelors degree in Finance Economics or a related discipline.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate loan origination or related roles.
Proven track record in originating and executing complex corporate loan transactions.

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of the Western European syndicated loan market and industry best practices.
Strong credit analysis and transaction structuring expertise balancing commercial objectives with risk discipline.
Self-motivated with a structured approach and the ability to synthesize information effectively.
Client-facing presence commercial mindset and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent analytical negotiation and communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multi-cultural teams.
Highly organized detail-oriented and able to manage multiple transactions under tight deadlines.
Proactive results-driven and client-focused.

Languages

Fluent in German and English (spoken and written).
Spanish language skills are an advantage.
