Clinical Research Assistant

The Research Assistant position is a part time position for someone interested in assisting with implementation of complex clinical trials. The successful applicant will relate well with patients and staff be very organized and have phlebotomy training and MA certificate or experience working as medical assistant.

This position is time limited. This position requires a level II background check.

Screening potential subjects

• Review clinic schedules to identify potential subjects (after IRB pre-screening approval).
• Outreach to potential participants
• Conduct Informed Consent
• Educate patients/ parents on the study

Subjects enrollment and follow up visits

• Assist study coordinators conducting study visits
• Prepare study documents
• Assist with collection and processing of specimens
• Assist study coordinators to schedule study visits and follow up appointments

Chart abstraction and chart report

• Abstract medical information from EMR
• Complete chart reports
• Enter data as stipulated by the protocols
• File study documents

Other duties as needed and appropriate including:

• Provide clinical support to clinicians of our division as needed at the Ybor Youth Clinic Children Medical Services and 17 Davis Clinic.
• Office assistance as needed to include answering phones and paperwork management

Requires High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year of experience. Higher education may substitute for the experience

(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree

Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure certification or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
