Role Title: API Developer (Python/FastAPI/Ansible)

Overview:

The API Developer Engg. role in CTO EI is a key position in HSBCs IT function delivering technical solutions to manage systems solve problems and automate operations tasks for Database teams.

The post-holder will be responsible for the successful development (and where relevant maintenance) of the environments.

This role requires a technical individual with strong and demonstrable development/programming experience working in large scale complex IT environments

• Role Purpose / Description

This role is seeking a skilled Python API Developer Engineer to design develop and maintain high-performance scalable and secure backend services and APIs using the FastAPI framework.

This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software solutions that meet application requirements and integrate seamlessly with various platforms

Responsible for writing code designing solutions tests cases executing test cases automating build test and deployment environment provisioning and configuration

Overall delivery of software components working in collaboration with product and architecture teams

Active participation in the Agile ceremonies and contribute to the overall functioning of self-organized empowered high performance team

Research learn new methodologies and technologies and implement them in the project to continuously improve and optimize design code build deploy test lifecycle

Collaborate with other teams to ensure integrated end-to-end design

Supports and oversees IT projects related to IT infrastructure vulnerability management as well as service sustainability

Ensures the team maintains focus on quality and continuous delivery

Provides visibility into delivery targets commitments and progress to the team as well as management

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

• Python Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Python programming with hands-on experience in backend development.

• FastAPI Expertise: Proven experience with the FastAPI framework for building asynchronous and high-performance web APIs

• API Principles: Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications for automatic interactive documentation.

• Ansible: Develop and maintain Ansible Playbooks To Automate Database related tasks
• Database Knowledge: Experience with database management systems Like Oracle MS SQL

• Kubernetes & Docker :Work with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes) for application deployment.
