We are seeking a Database Administrator (SQL Server) to join our team. This role will involve providing infrastructure DBA support for multiple SQL Server environments supporting mission-critical enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SQL Server administration high availability and disaster recovery solutions database performance monitoring and database maintenance with a passion for ensuring highly reliable and secure database environments.

Job Description
We are looking for an intermediate-level Database Administrator (DBA) responsible for providing 24x7 infrastructure and operational support for SQL Server database environments supporting complex enterprise applications. This role supports several Tier-1 applications across multiple business areas and ensures database systems maintain high availability security and performance following industry and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administration and operational support for SQL Server 2016 and above environments.
  • Follow and enforce database standards policies and procedures and assist in developing documentation and operational guidelines.
  • Monitor database space allocation and perform adjustments in development and test environments.
  • Calculate and plan disk space requirements for new and existing database installations.
  • Modify DBMS parameters based on capacity and performance requirements.
  • Configure and execute database integrity checks and monitor database health.
  • Install and maintain database management software patches and service packs for development and test environments.
  • Monitor and support clustered database environments replication and backup systems.
  • Implement strategies to release unused space and manage database fragmentation.
  • Execute database scripts provided by system analysts or architects for creating or modifying database objects.
  • Monitor database backups and recovery processes troubleshoot backup failures and ensure data recoverability.
  • Monitor database jobs and scheduled processes across development test and production environments.
  • Monitor database environments using alert logs trace files and monitoring tools to identify issues affecting functionality connectivity or availability.
  • Evaluate impacts of changes or new technologies and recommend solutions to persistent database issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between agency services and external consultants when necessary.
Required Skills
  • 4 years of experience in SQL Server Database Administration (SQL Server 2016 or higher).
  • Experience supporting High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
  • Experience with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) in SQL Server.
  • Experience managing database backups replication and clustered environments.
  • Strong experience with database monitoring performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with patch management upgrades and database maintenance.
  • Ability to calculate storage and capacity requirements for database environments.
  • 2 years of experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and system procedures.
  • Strong understanding of database security and operational best practices.
  • Ability to work in complex enterprise environments supporting critical applications.
