The RRT provides leadership and expertise in the field of Respiratory Therapy and works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to assist in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiopulmonary and related disorders. At SHC the RRT staff work in all of the areas of the hospital: ED ICU/CCU NICU and ward setting. The RRT is supported to work to full scope of practice which includes arterial line insertions and adult / neonatal intubation. As a Respiratory Therapist I you will assess patients develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor their progress. You will be responsible for various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions. You will collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes. You will provide training and assist health care providers in the use and care of respiratory equipment as well as educate patients and their families regarding diseases medications equipment and treatments.

Required Qualifications: Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
Additional Required Qualifications: This RRT position includes the following physical requirements: being on ones feet for extended periods of time (standing/walking) exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous situations for which they have been trained; be able to assist in transporting lifting and positioning of patients be able to bend lift push and pull equipment such as life support equipment up to 20 Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada BLS year full time experience working in acute care within the last two years.
Preferred Qualifications: Current independent RRT acute care experience in ICU ED Wards and NICU NRP/PALS/ACLS verbal and written communication and conflict management leadership skills.
