Summary:

Hospitalist 7 on/7 off Work With a Collaborative Integrated Care Team

We are seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Hospitalist to join our cohesive inpatient team. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who values a manageable patient load strong nursing collaboration and a predictable block schedule.

Position Highlights
25-bed hospital with an average daily census of 10 patients
7 on / 7 off schedule
Round on patients starting at 7:00 AM
Integrated clinical rounding with nursing at 8:30 AM for improved coordination and patient outcomes
Physicians will have continued communication with nursing during on-call hours with the possibility of screening possible admissions in collaboration with our emergency room physicians.

Requirements:
Board Eligible/Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Licensed MD/DO in ND and MN

The Hospitalists role involves evaluating diagnosing and treating patients at Altru providing comprehensive care for injuries and illnesses. Hospitalists responsibilities include counseling patients on preventive healthcare measures and exercising professional judgment in alignment with Altrus policies and standards. The position requires achieving annual Patient Engagement and Quality & Safety goals supporting department objectives and maintaining accurate and timely documentation to ensure quality patient care and appropriate reimbursement.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Evaluates provides diagnosis and treatment of patientsofAltru whopresentwith injuries or andadviseson preventative healthcare measures.

  • Exercises Doctors own judgment in the diagnosis and treatment of patients consistent with Altrus policies and standards.

  • Achieves the Altru Patient Engagement and Quality & Safety goalsestablishedon an annual basis. Participates in activities and support department goals as defined bydepartmenton an annual basis.

  • Maintainsaccurateandtimelydocumentation ensuring quality patient care and assurance ofappropriate reimbursementsto Altru.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate withinspecifiedfield of medical practice from respective accreditedschool.

  • Must be admissible to sit for either the Canadian or American Board or be certified by the Canadian Board and are members of either the Royal College of Physicians or Royal College of Surgeons American boardcertificationor the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) board certification. Board certification inareaof specialty must be obtained within six years of employment.

  • Must be granted medical staff appointments at Altru and associated facilities as are necessary to the commission of duties prior to commencement of employment.

  • Must be insurable under the Health Systems professional liability carrier prior to commencement of employment.

  • Be legally licensed to practice medicine by the North Dakota Board of Medicine and/or Minnesota Board of Medicine depending on the location of the practice to which they are assigned.
