Temporary/Casual Staff (Fixed Term)Job Description
The temporary summer camp worker will serve as an instructor for reading enrichment STEM and financial literacy summer camps. Curriculum and instructional support will be provided for all subject areas. Camp workers must keep track of material usage and maintain confidential records. The Education Librarian on staff will assist with scheduling and planning activities. Other duties may be required as assigned. Job training will occur in late May and camp activities will run from June to mid-July.
Applicants must be authorized to work for any US employer. The department is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
Preferred Requirement: Experience working with children
Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM
A Presidential Proclamation issued on September 19 2025 imposes a $100000 fee on all new H1B petitions filed after September 21 2025 and Texas A&M UniversityCentral Texas will not pay this fee. Additionally a moratorium issued by Governor Abbott on January 27 2026 restricts the filing of new H1B petitions unless approved by the Texas Workforce Commission. Due to these restrictions applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer and the department is currently unable to sponsor or assume sponsorship of any employment visa.
