- Job Title: Production Operations Manager
- Company: Value Added Distributors
- Location: Rockford Illinois
- Pay: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications
- Schedule: 6:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday
As our full-time Production Operations Manager youll supervise your team throughout the day to make sure they stay focused keep on task and comply with all safety/quality/regulatory policies. Youll support efficient daily activities contribute to employee development and help optimize daily operations.
Heres what youll need:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience related to business engineering mechanics fluid power manufacturing and/or quality control management
- 3 years of leadership experience preferably in manufacturing
- Familiarity with Lean and/or Six Sigma principles
- Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel proficiency
- Empathetic respectful and calm personality
- Valid drivers license and a clean driving record
- PREFERRED - OSHA 30-hour certification
- PREFERRED - First Aid CPR and BBP certifications
- PREFERRED - Forklift certification
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication (verbal/written) presentation and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Comfort with technology and learning new applications/approaches
- Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of how tools and machines interact with each other
- Solid judgement and decision-making skills even while under pressure
- Multitasking and time management skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to use tape measures and digital calipers
- Ability to type 25 wpm
- Ability to diagnose and solve mechanical issues
- Ability to troubleshoot and work on fluid power systems
- Ability to train others in procedural safety and quality standards
- Ability to safely lift 40 lbs. using proper lifting techniques

YOUR ROLE AS OUR PRODUCTION OPERATIONS MANAGER:
- Supervising your team as they assemble hydraulic hoses to ensure they follow all SOPs safety protocols company standards customer specifications and quality expectations
- Resolving quality issues and taking proactive steps to minimize non-conformances prevent bottlenecks and keep production smooth
- Allocating resources (manpower equipment and materials) to optimize daily workflows
- Overseeing all production areas and coordinating schedules to ensure open positions are appropriately filled
- Performing time management studies managing databases and completing data entry
- Motivating your team to complete high-quality work while meeting deadlines and profitability targets
- Supporting employee growth and development by providing constructive feedback coaching training and encouragement in alignment with company targets
- Directly and indirectly managing material procurement
- Building rapport and fostering relationships with customers direct reports vendors peers managers internal teams etc.
- Assisting with strategic brainstorming and budget planning to help meet and exceed production targets
