Job Title: Maintenance Building Checker

Location: Support Service Center
General Purpose
Responsible for checking on the security and maintenance functions of the buildings on the weekends holidays and days when schools are not open.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Make sure all school buildings are secured by checking the alarm system and making sure all doors and windows are closed and locked.
- Board up a door or window that is broken.
- Deal with the alarm company and the police
- Check the boiler rooms for broken pipes or water leaks.
- Check the boiler water levels and check the compressors.
- Listen for unusual sounds that might indicate equipment is not running properly
- Make minor repairs when needed.
- Notify the proper authorities when he finds problems that need to be repaired or reported immediately.
- Report any thefts or graffiti he finds.
- Report unnecessary lights that are left on.
- Check the freezers to make sure they are working properly.
- Fill out paperwork every day on each school visited and turn it into the District Maintenance Department.
- Work in all types of inclement weather and at various times of the day.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience
- A Utah Drivers License with an acceptable driving record
- Knowledge of boiler operations electrical systems and security in buildings
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- This job regularly requires a moderate level of physical exertion such as handling medium weight materials (11-50 pounds) extensive standing walking crawling bending stooping or climbing.
- Work is occasionally carried out in disagreeable conditions.
- Exposure to adverse working conditions inclement weather dirt/dust noise or fumes and/or exposure to possible accidents health hazards or minor injuries produce an environment that involves adjusting to or accommodating these uncomfortable conditions.
