Trainee Corporate Strategy and Food Service Distribution (all genders)

About our programme:

Our traineeship programme is designed to bring you fast-track into a senior expert role in your chosen field. As a trainee you will have the chance to work in specialized areas exciting projects and gain exposure to different departments and addition you can complete an assignment in one of our METRO countries abroad providing a truly international experience.

During your stint in the Corporate Strategy Department you will accompany strategic projects with high impact on our operational entities. You will support in market research create analysis and apply quantitative and qualitative modelling to prepare decisions on the matter. Further on you will support the transformation initiatives und thus learn high-impact project leadership with advanced stakeholder management aligning regions and functions. During your stint in our Food Service Distribution function you will develop an industry-exclusive expertise around strategic and operational delivery excellence including transportation planning and fleet structure route profitability and related technological infrastructure. From a corporate perspective you will join our seasoned experts in supporting our international wholesale entities by evaluating their local strategies and leveraging best practices.

Qualifications :

What you need to bring to the table to be eligible: 

• A masters degree in business/economics with a specialization in strategy logistics or a related field with very good grades 
• Relevant internships in above mentioned area ideally in multi-national corporations or strategy consulting 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to oversee complexity 
• Ability to learn quickly adaptability to new and changing environments open and pro-active personality  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills towards various target groups 
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office 365 
• Fluency in English (min. B2); other European language skill is a plus
