Job Summary

The Project Cargo Specialist is responsible for planning coordinating and executing complex oversized and high-value cargo movements from initial planning through final delivery. This role ensures seamless coordination across internal and external stakeholders while upholding Expeditors standards for safety compliance service excellence and operational integrity

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end project cargo movements across all transport modes including air ocean road rail and multimodal solutions.
  • Plan and execute complex oversized heavy-lift and breakbulk shipments in accordance with project requirements and customer expectations
  • Prepare accurate and competitive quotations tenders and cost estimates; review commercial operational and compliance documentation.
  • Manage clear and proactive communication with customers carriers vendors agents and internal teams across regions.
  • Support or coordinate on-site supervision for critical milestones including cargo loading discharge and heavy-lift operations where required.
  • Monitor project timelines budgets and operational performance to ensure successful delivery against agreed milestones.
  • Identify operational commercial and compliance risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruption.
  • Maintain accurate operational records billing data and cost controls in line with Expeditors financial and compliance standards.
  • Deliver proactive solution-oriented customer service providing regular status updates and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with global Expeditors offices and product teams to ensure alignment and consistency in project execution.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives sharing best practices and supporting process enhancements.

Qualifications :

  • Demonstrated experience in project cargo heavy-lift logistics breakbulk or specialized cargo operations.
  • Strong understanding of international logistics transport regulations permits and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage complex time-critical logistics operations with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook) and logistics or freight-forwarding systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel interstate within Australia as required to support project execution.

  • Package: AUD $102k plus superannuation (90k base & health plus 12k Car allowance)
