This position offers a competitive pay rate with potential adjustments based on experience and qualifications as well as the opportunity for advancement employee recognition and team collaboration.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists the pharmacist in providing medication drug information and pharmaceutical services to patients nurses physicians and other hospital personnel
- Receives and stores incoming deliveries of medication and supplies
- Demonstrates an ability to calculate figures and amounts relating to dosage calculations when filling various prescriptions ranging from the newborn to the elderly populations
- Maintains inventory of supplies in pharmacy and other departments and reorders them accordingly
- Answers the phone and communicates effectively with hospital staff as directed by the pharmacist
- Performs tasks related to sterile compounding including but not limited to clean room training cleaning and maintaining the space
- Prepares and delivers medications to designated locations based on end-user need
- Maintains stock in the automated dispensing cabinet
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current pharmacy technician licensure in the applicable state(s)
- All experience levels considered
- Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred
