Lead Maintenance Technician

TheLead Maintenance Techniciantrains mentors and provides daily instructions for maintenance teams. The position is responsible for performing predictive and preventative maintenance on mechanical and building systems including HVAC pumps motors valves and chilled water distribution systems. TheLead Maintenance Techniciandemonstrates BGIS values in communication with clients and other team members.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Client Service Focus and Team Supervision

• Provide daily guidance to team on work deliverables based on client and safety priorities.
• Ensure team members receive appropriate training to complete work efficiently.
• Maintain positive client relationship by delivering services in timely and quality manner.
• Monitor service requests in work order management system.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and maintain positive and professional working relationship with internal and external clients.
• Support the creation review and approval of maintenance procedures.
• Resolve facility related maintenance issues.
• Respond to emergency calls based on specific client scheduling.
• Work with vendors and contractors to monitor and ensure work meets BGIS and client standards.
• Contribute to the completion of other key initiatives as assigned.
  

Maintain Building Systems

• Perform predictive and preventative maintenance on mechanical electrical plumbing and other building systems.
• Inspect buildings grounds and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
• Assist with ancillary building systems necessary to keep systems operating at peak performance with minimal downtime.
• Maintain facility equipment as indicated by preventative maintenance plans.
• Provide general building maintenance and perform routine maintenance tasks
• Troubleshoot evaluate and recommend upgrades.
• Order parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs.
• Forward high-level technical maintenance to appropriate resource.

Knowledge and Skills

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Demonstrated proficiency for all Maintenance Technician responsibilities.
• Two years of experience in a data center or other critical environment required.
• Two years of experience in commercial or industrial environment with increasing responsibility for managing daily building operations preferred
• Experience with electrical plumbing HVAC and other building systems maintenance is preferred.
• Team leadership experience a plus.
• Strong communication skills with verbal and written messaging.
• Ability to read blueprints/CAD drawing preferred.
• Problem Solving approach to review potential solutions and provide timely client service.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel and Outlook.

• Current valid drivers license and ability to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office with reimbursement.
