Job Summary
The General Superintendent is responsible for the overall performance coordination and development of field operations for their assigned division. This role ensures crews are properly planned equipped trained and supported to deliver safe highquality productive work.
Reporting to theVP of Field Workforce the General Superintendent serves as the primary field leader for the division overseeingday to dayexecution managing field personnel and partnering closely withVice President of COS Operationsto achieve safe efficient and successful project outcomes.
This is a key leadership role focused on people development workforce planning field culture productivity and safety execution. Job location is out of Colorado Springs Office.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Workforce Management
- Oversee all field personnel within the division including Superintendents General Foremen and Foremen.
- Ensure proper staffing crew assignments and manpower forecasting in coordination with Project Management.
- Lead onboarding training development and performance coaching of field leaders.
- Promote consistent use of company standards best practices and installation methods.
- Support field leaders in daily problemsolving planning and work sequencing in a positive manner.
Project Support & Execution
- Partner with PMs to plan labor schedule execution and field deliverables for each project.
- Oversee field startup and closeout processes at the division level.
- Review project manpower plans productivity goals and installation workflows with Director of Field Operations.
- Provide field expertise during constructability reviews preplanning and coordination meetings.
- Monitor daily/weekly field performance and intervene early when productivity quality or schedule issues arise.
Safety Leadership
- Uphold and reinforce the companys safety culture on every project.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies procedures and required training.
- Support job site audits and partner with Safety Leadership to correct hazards and improve behaviors.
- Hold field leaders accountable for safe work practices and high-quality reporting.
Quality & Installation Standards
- Ensure consistent craftsmanship and enforce company SOP installation standards.
- Conduct jobsite quality walks and assist crews with technical guidance.
- Support QC processes commissioning readiness and closeout documentation.
- Coordinate with field teams with fabrication & VDC teams to align expectations and field methods.
Workforce Development & Culture
- Build a strong leadership pipeline for Foremen General Foremen and Superintendents.
- Support apprenticeship engagement mentoring coaching and evaluations.
- Promote strong communication professional behavior and teamwork across the job sites.
- Leads with a positive safetydriven culture efficient mindset to every project.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Implement field processes by working with the Director of Denver Field Operations other General Superintendents and VP of Field Workforce
- Identify recurring field challenges and recommend improvements.
- Support rollouts of new technology tools prefabrication strategies and workflows.
- Engagement in field productivity metrics and labor performance; lead corrective actions when needed.
Qualifications
- 10 years of field experience in plumbing/pipefitting/sheet metal.
- Current union member of SMACNA Local 9 or UA Local 58
- 5 years in a field leadership role (Foreman General Foreman Superintendent).
- Strong planning communication and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to supervise multiple crews and job sites simultaneously.
- Expertise in interpreting drawings specifications and installation standards.
- Experience managing field labor across multiple large projects.
- Familiarity with project planning tools (e.g. Bluebeam Excel Project Procore).
- Prior success developing field leaders and apprentices.
- Strong relationshipbuilding skills with Project Teams and Customers.

Compensation Range: $55.00/ hr. to $65 / hour per current CBA

Physical Demands
Must be able to stand/walk/sit for long periods of time (8 hours or more); bend/stoop kneel/crouch/squat while wearing a tool belt; lift move or push up to 50 lbs; good manual dexterity (use/management of tools typing writing operation of computers/mouse); ability to climb using a ladder; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Indoor/outdoor temperatures vary by season and assigned work location/task. While performing the duties of this job may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles moving mechanical parts and vibration; may be exposed to a variety of extreme conditions while at construction job sites (weather noise etc.). Generally conducted in a temperature-controlled environment; Locations may encounter noise from machinery/equipment/vehicles or other processes and and availability will need to remain flexible to be able to respond to the field issues and/or Company needs as required. This could include shutdowns and emergency calls.
