Job Summary
Karara Mining Limited (KML)is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton Western Australia Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and highly capableSenior Process Operator responsible for assisting the Production Supervisor in leading a crew of processing operators.
To be considered for this role applicants must have a strong background in process operations and have held a previous leadership role in the mining / heavy industry.
Working on a Full-time 8 days on 6 days off 7 nights on 7 days off roster FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton.
To be successful in the role the following is essential:
- WHS for Supervisors: DMIRS Schedule 26 Regulations
- Western Australian C Class Drivers Licence
- Experience in Permit to Work or Control Room areas
- 5 years extensive experience within mining preferably mineral processing environments
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications
- WA HRL: Forklift (LF)
- Operate a Gantry or Overhead Crane
- Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
- Work Safely at Heights
- Conduct Operations with Integrated Tool Carrier
- Conduct Operations with a Skid Steer Loader
- National Police clearance

Key Duties ;The Senior Process Operator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of operational tasks and plant activities working closely with the Production Supervisor with the safe operation of the Magnetite Concentrator including but not limited to the following processing areas;
- Crushing
- Grinding
- Magnetic Separation
- Flotation
- Thickening
- Filtration (concentrate and tailings)
Additional responsibilities include
- Ensuring Production Supervisor instructions are carried out safely and in a timely manner while monitoring and reporting progress as required
- Liaising with relevant personnel to identify Permit to Work and isolation requirements
- Acting as the first point of contact for Process Operators regarding production-related troubleshooting
