Position Summary:

The Internal Communications and Content Strategist is responsible for creating and delivering clear engaging and strategic internal communications that inform and connect employees across the health system. As part of a collaborative marketing and communications team this role leads content planning writing and storytelling efforts and supports internal event communications to strengthen organizational culture and transparency.

The strategist works closely with departments such as HR Compliance IT Clinical Education Learning & Leadership Development and others to ensure consistent and impactful messaging. This role also contributes to content for leadership communications press releases award nominations and systemwide initiatives. Strong project management and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

Internal Communications

  • Plan write and distribute internal communication materials including newsletters intranet articles digital signage flyers and printed collateral.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to share key initiatives policy updates benefits information employee development programs and organizational priorities.
  • Identify creative and inclusive communication channels to reach non-desk and frontline employees.

Content Writing and Storytelling

  • Draft and edit compelling content including press releases award nominations leadership messages and feature articles.
  • Develop written materials that celebrate employee achievements highlight new initiatives and elevate the voice of the organization.
  • Ensure consistent tone voice and alignment with organizational mission and brand standards.

Project Management

  • Experience using project management software to intake organize and track communications projects and deliverables.
  • Coordinate timelines manage priorities and support transparency and accountability across cross-functional work.
  • Partner with team members to streamline planning and enhance overall communications workflow.

Event Communications Support

  • Assist with internal event promotion and communication logistics for employee-facing events town halls recognitions and campaign launches.
  • Support event planning teams with written materials signage program coordination and on-site messaging needs.

Team Collaboration and Communication

  • Participate in department meetings strategy sessions and planning efforts to support an integrated communications calendar.
  • Build relationships with departments across the health system to better understand communication needs and audiences.
  • Help improve communication practices and contribute ideas for increased employee engagement and clarity.

Media Monitoring and Backup Support (as needed)

  • Assist in monitoring media coverage and preparing internal tracking reports when required.
  • Coordinate with team members on special projects or external communications support.
  • Follows policies procedures and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Bachelors degree in Communications Public Relations Journalism Marketing English or related field.

Minimum Experience:

Minimum of 3 years in internal communications public relations or content writing.
