Job Description:

Position Overview

The role is responsible for Valuation Controls including Policies and Governance within the Product Control team. This position is charged with ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of reporting maintaining robust controls and upholding governance standards for valuations at TD Securities. Roles and responsibilities also include providing insights into and analysis on TDS & Bankss Fair Value results. The Manager will work collaboratively with the Front Office Information Technology Risk Finance and other control functions as well as key stakeholders across the organization.

The Manager acts as a primary point of contact for all valuation-related governance activities partnering closely with valuation teams risk management finance and audit departments to ensure the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of comprehensive valuation results and controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and assist with regular valuation committee meetings (global & regional) ensuring effective oversight and documentation of valuation decisions.
  • Prepare and present reports on valuation matters to senior management risk committees and other stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure the Banks fair value reporting and Financial fair value disclosure are following various Valuation Policies.
  • Explain IPV variances Valuation Adjustment results with succinct commentaries in reference to business pricing model understanding data issues and external market factors.
  • Keep senior management and key stakeholders informed of any significant updates
  • Collaborate with auditors and regulators during valuation process reviews and examinations.
  • Identify opportunities and implement objectives to improve/streamline processes to sustain TDS business growth
  • Provide training and guidance to valuation teams on governance standards and policy updates.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in valuation regulations accounting standards and industry developments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA or FRM are highly desirable.
  • 5 years of experience in valuation control risk management or audit within financial services or a related industry (Valuation Control or Governance experience is mandatory).
  • Excellent analytical communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and relevant valuation tools/software.
  • Working knowledge of valuation techniques for various asset classes (e.g. equities fixed income derivatives private assets).
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as IFRS US GAAP and relevant financial regulations.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Business/Accounting/Financial Management (accounting designation is preferred but not required)
  • 5-7 Years of related experience
