Cloud Engineering Intern DevOps & SRE (May Co-op or Internship Opportunity 4 Months)

The Opportunity:

Were looking for two (2) interns to join our Cloud Engineering team for a 4-month opportunity. The Cloud Engineering team at Vancity builds and operates the cloud and platform foundations that support banking products and services. These roles will report to the Sr Manager SRE (or Sr Manager DevOps) and work closely with SRE Observability Product and ITSM teams. These roles will receive additional mentorship from senior Cloud and SRE engineers.

A typical day would involve:

• Supporting backlog grooming and prioritization in Azure DevOps under guidance from senior engineers
• Tracking project deliverables dependencies & assist with status reporting
• Participating in meetings with SRE Observability Product and ITSM teams
• Gathering and documenting user feedback on tooling usability and operational workflows
• Creating clear documentation and summaries to support decision-making
• When required developing code with PowerShell Python or NodeJS

• A team player - you can engage with members of your team as well as cross-functional teams and are willing to collaborate across projects and initiatives.

You have:

• Current enrollment or recent graduation from an undergraduate program within an applicable field and eligible for co-op/internship opportunities
• An interest in Cloud or Infrastructure engineering
• Experience with process improvement and workflow optimization
• Exposure to data analysis reporting and stakeholder feedback synthesis
• Knowledge of DevOps SRE or Observability practices
• A willingness to work in a highly flexible environment with multiple competing priorities.
• A high level of attention to detail

Bonus points if you have:

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps Jira or similar work management tools
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferred GCP or AWS is nice to have)
• Basic understanding of SRE monitoring or IT operations concepts
• Documentation and presentation skills
• Coding Experience

What Youll Earn:

This role offers a pay range of $27.85/hr.
