Interventional Radiology Technologist: This position supports physicians and advanced practice providers in performing minimally invasive image guided interventional radiology procedures. The technologist prepares patients operates imaging equipment maintains a sterile environment monitors patient safety and ensures accurate documentation. 1 2 years of experience preferred Must hold R.T.(R) through ARRT One of the following preferred: R.T.(R)(VI) R.T.(R)(CV) R.T.(R)(CI) RCIS VI CV or CI certification is required within 1 year of hire if not already held Responsibilities Assist with interventional radiology procedures (angiography biopsies injections tube placements thrombolysis etc.). Maintain a sterile field and support providers during routine and emergency cases. Review patient charts for correct orders clinical indication medication considerations (e.g. blood thinners) and NPO status. Interview and educate patients before and after procedures; provide discharge instructions. Operate and adjust imaging equipment to produce high quality diagnostic images. Monitor patient vital signs and watch for adverse reactions especially to contrast. Administer contrast under radiologist supervision (when applicable). Manage procedural supplies equipment and medications requested by providers. Document procedures accurately in EMR and manage imaging in PACS. Apply radiation safety practices following ALARA guidelines. Collaborate closely with radiologists and clinical staff. Respond to emergencies and provide Basic Life Support. Train and evaluate students as needed. May cross train into additional imaging modalities (e.g. X ray).
Shift: M-F Days 0730-1600 on-call rotation weeknights & weekends
