Capital Hilton is looking to welcome a talented Assistant Head Banquet Houseperson to join the team!Our historic hotel is in the heart of the nations capital less than a mile from McPherson Sq metro station has 559 guest rooms over 31235 total event space and 21 meeting rooms.

The ideal candidate would have worked most recently with an employer for 1 years and has hotel banquet set up experience. Ability to setup breakdown and clean meeting rooms event space and surrounding areas and to work varying schedules is mandatory.

The ideal candidate will have at least six months of banquet houseperson experience. They will be skilled in setting up breaking down and cleaning meeting rooms event spaces and surrounding areas with a strong focus on detail and efficiency. This individual will possess flexibility patience and a sense of urgency. Physical stamina is essential as the role involves standing for extended periods and the ability to lift push and pull heavy objects. This is a union position.

Shift Pattern: Full Availability (weekday weekend and holidays) - AM PM and Overnight shifts as needed.

Pay Rate: $30.61 per hour

What will I be doing

As an Assistant Head Banquet Houseperson you would be responsible for overseeing the set-up and clean-up of all banquet functions in the hotels continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Supervise and assist Housepersons with set up to ensure compliance with event specifications and with clean up and break-down after events
  • Assist Housepersons with and oversee a variety of tasks including but not limited to dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures vacuuming mopping sweeping shampooing carpets washing windows cleaning/waxing floors removing and disposing of trash and emptying ashtrays
  • Assist with planning organization and execution of all banquet functions
  • Greet clients and guests and respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely friendly and efficient manner
  • Participate in and lead department meetings as needed
