A global pharmaceutical manufacturer is searching for a Project Manager to join their project based in Indianapolis Indiana on an initial 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary governance interface with the General Contractor ensuring clear communication rapid issue escalation and timely decision making.
- Ensure project execution adheres to all required safety and EHS standards.
- Set and communicate expectations regarding scope design intent schedule cost and change management.
- Maintain daily oversight of project activities to assess readiness priorities risks sequencing considerations and emerging constraints.
- Govern project processes including change requests deviation notices risk reviews cost monitoring and schedule performance.
- Support contract performance oversight collaborating with procurement and the contractor to resolve performance issues.
- Promote adherence to approved safety programs and ensure timely resolution of safety concerns.
- Maintain structured and transparent engagement with the General Contractor to facilitate effective issue resolution and decision support.
- Track and manage project risks cost performance and schedule adherence escalating issues where required.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting of project progress risks cost status and schedule updates to senior leadership.
- Lead weekly project meetings prepare decision focused agendas and hold team members accountable for deliverables.
- Participate in project steering meetings presenting status updates risks schedule outlooks and key decisions.
- Act as the escalation point for issues raised by Construction System Owners or C&Q determining appropriate disposition paths while leaving execution to the contractor.
Experience Required
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management Project Management or related technical field (Masters preferred).
- Sufficient experience delivering large scale pharmaceutical biotechnology or life sciences capital projects.
- Proven experience managing EPC or General Contractors on complex highly regulated construction programs.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee full project lifecycle across design construction commissioning and handover.
- Strong understanding of GMP facilities regulated environments and project governance processes.
- Expertise in schedule control cost management risk management change control contract administration and procurement.
- Excellent leadership communication negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to operate decisively in fast paced environments.
