Basic Function:
Under the direction of the School Principal oversee the overall functioning of the school including student guidance and discipline curriculum instruction assessment student attendance parent involvement student activities site facilities management and other related functions as assigned.
Representative Duties:
- Perform a variety of site management activities; establish and maintain a school calendar monitor cumulative records and campus supervision; supervise and evaluate certificated and classified personnel; supervise custodial activities; utilize District Maintenance Personnel Fiscal Services and Educational Services personnel to enhance site activities.
- Serve as the Acting Principal in the absence of the Principal; serve as administrative designee at Student Study Team meetings.
- Perform a variety of duties related to student behavior; implement school discipline policy; communicate with parents regarding school and District discipline policies and procedures; monitor student attendance; conduct parent conference meetings relating to attendance.
- Assist staff with the implementation of District-adopted courses of study and instructional strategies. Facilitate staff development program; monitor progress report forms and timelines.
- Facilitate Title I and categorical program activities; coordinate student teacher program; coordinate testing programs and analyze assessment data; participate in program evaluation such as the Categorical Program Monitoring Review.
- Perform other related functions as assigned.
Knowledge Of:
- Principles methods strategies pertaining to the organization management and supervision of school site.
- Curriculum instruction and assessment best practices and strategies at the K-6/K-8 level.
- Student guidance and discipline.
- Conflict resolution cultural diversity and PLC team building strategies.
Ability To:
- Effectively plan organize lead and supervise specific activities within a K-6/K-8 setting.
- Demonstrate a situational leadership model.
- Effectively analyze complex problems issues and concerns and recommend appropriate alternative solutions.
- Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions with minimal direction.
- Establish and maintain effective organizational public and community relationships.

Qualifications:
- A valid California Administrative Services CredentialA Masters Degree in an education related field; School Administration is preferred
- Successful experience working with K-8 children
- A valid California Multiple Subjects/Single Subject Credential
- NCLB certification
- Experience as an athletic director preferred
- Appropriate EL authorization
- A minimum of three years successful teaching experience in a public school working with diverse socioeconomic and multi-ethnic students.
