A leading organisation is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Planner to support and optimise plant operations through effective asset management planning and maintenance control.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving continuous improvement of overall equipment effectiveness by supporting the Engineering Manager in all aspects of maintenance planning and asset management.
- Managing and administering the preventive maintenance system using Pragma Onkey 5.
- Planning and scheduling resources required for all planned maintenance activities.
- Coordinating spares tools and materials and ensuring quality compliance of items received.
- Analysing breakdown trends and costs and recommending improvements to enhance maintenance effectiveness.
- Maintaining technical documentation including manuals drawings certificates and statutory records.
- Compiling monthly reports with insights and recommendations.
- Driving engineering quality systems such as deviation management RCA CAPA and change control.
- Ensuring compliance with GEP cGMP and regulatory requirements.
- Developing and updating Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules across the plant.
- Prioritising statutory inspections calibrations and quality-sensitive tasks.
- Managing shutdown planning and weekend opportunity work.
- Ensuring accurate work order creation tracking and contractor supervision.
- Leading root cause analyses to prevent repeat failures.
- Supporting ongoing asset management improvements to achieve key performance targets.
- Training production and maintenance teams on Pragma Onkey 5 and effective work order feedback.
Requirements:
- Trade-tested artisan with a National Diploma as a minimum.
- ND/BTech/BEng/BSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering ADVANTAGEOUS.
- Minimum 5 years experience in an FMCG engineering or manufacturing environment with at least 3 years in a planning role.
- Pharmaceutical experience will be ADVANTAGEOUS.
- Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance principles and systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and ERP knowledge (preferably Pragma Onkey 5).
- Understanding of project planning and scheduling concepts including relevant software.
