Job Summary

The Child Nutrition department is looking to fill 11 temporary Cafeteria Assistant positions for the summer feeding program. Must be available to work every day of the assignment. Staff will be selected based on program needs.

DETAILS FOR THIS POSITION:

LENGTH OF WORK PERIOD: 5 days/week Monday - Friday Hours TBD

WORK SCHEDULES: 3.0 hours/day 5.5 hours/dayor 6.5 hours/day 5 days/week Monday - Friday. Please select length of work period hours and site of interest in your application.

WORK SITES: Central Kitchen SOSWHF PJH FSA De Luz & MFP

SALARY: Cafeteria Assistant Range 15 Step 7 $26.31/hour (per updated 25-26 salary schedule for allhours worked in June 2026. Additional 2% increase will be reflected for all hours worked in July 2026.)

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING: Some previous food preparation and kitchen maintenance experience is preferred. Possession of a valid California Food Handler Authorization Card issued by the County Department of Public Health. APPLICATION DIRECTIONS: This position is open to all qualified internal candidates.
