Position Title: Research and Development Investigator

Position Location: 3400 S Saginaw Road Midland MI 48640

Duties: Lead project teams from idea generation through scale-up and commercialization to successfully drive innovation to market. Design lab studies and oversee Research and Development lab resources to develop and evaluate new process technology to meet sustainability and profitability targets for the business. Serve as critical link between laboratory scientists and manufacturing team to ensure smooth scale-up of new products and technology. Identify new opportunities and gaps in existing technology and operations to create programs and strategically broaden the portfolio. Engage with technical experts within DuPont and in the broader scientific community to bring front-edge capabilities to the business. Document and communicate learnings and best practices to internal and external partners. Understand alignment and prioritization of programs to business technology strategy. Support safe operating practices. Up to 10% of travel domestic travel required.

Requirements: PhD or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering Chemistry or related field of study and one year of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Must have one year of experience in each of the following skills: polymer synthesis and polymer characterization; experimental design and execution; data analysis and documentation utilizing electronic laboratory notebooks written reports and presentations; laboratory process development utilizing high hazard chemistry; and industrial scale-up of new chemical processes.
