The Role

The Client Group Operating Officer is responsible for optimising the operating model of M&Gs global Client Group using organisational insight and data driven analysis to strengthen capital raising efforts and improve Net Flow generation.

The role maps organisational design unifies client ecosystem data and performance signals enhances Salesforce usage and governance and leads the Distribution 1st Line Risk framework. It supports annual and in year business planning embeds the Enterprise Client Strategy strengthens connectivity across Client Service Marketing and the CG Operating Office and partners with Finance on GF/NF reporting and cost oversight.

The role also fosters collaboration across HR Finance Operations and the global COO network ensures clear communication across the Client Group and organises team workshops and offsites to support alignment and high performance. The CGOO will report to the Global Head of Client Group and lead a team of three direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Organisational Appraisal

  • Collaborate with Head of Client Group to understand roles responsibilities and organisation design to advance an ambitious Client Group Capital Raising goal and improve Net Flow creation.
  • Align data within the whole of CG that leverages Marketing and Client Service intelligence to provide visibility on the M&G client ecosystem.
  • Use data to understand client journey through M&G from prospecting to redemption. As it relates to CG control factors (Client coverage client enablement client service)
  • Design clear easy to consume signals upon the performance of the business to help raise assets across Public and Private Markets
  • Work with Country heads to support Salesforce usage and self-serve reporting to enable transparency in business management
  • Lead the Distribution governance framework including the design and monitoring of 1st Line Risk KPIs to be in-line with risk tolerance. and implement improvements as needed.

Business Unit planning

  • Provide feedback loops on what is working to hit plan and how to adjust and course correct planning through the Financial year.
  • Support the roll out of our Enterprise Client Strategy to ensure systemisation of client visibility and record keeping via SF of all client interactions across the organisation
  • Work with and collaborate to form an integrated CG Operating Office that can enable and assist the Client Service and Marketing Operating platforms to be better connected

Financial Design and implementation

  • Design robust and coherent reporting on the performance of the business as it relates to financial impact : GF/NF by channel country product.
  • Act as primary conduit for financial planning and total cost oversight / appraisal in partnership with Internal Financial resource
  • Identify opportunities for operating model process improvement and implement measures to enhance financial efficiency across the Client Group function.

Expectations of the CGOO

  • Support and design effective communications with team mates across the CG platform to keep colleagues informed and create transparent information share for all.
  • Establish productive relationships with teams across M&G Asset Management
  • Organize offsites and workshops to build and enhance the CG teams capacity and performance

M&G associate Engagement

  • Actively participate in the global COO network across M&G Asset Management and represent the Client Group organisation. Ensure information is cascaded and shared efficiently.
  • Work with key internal partners and stakeholders (HR Finance COO network etc.) ensure coordination across the various partner areas and help facilitate awareness to create strong partnership with Client Group.

Key Knowledge Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Client Group Operating Officer or in a similar leadership role within the asset management industry.
  • Strong strategic and operational planning skills with the ability to translate business goals into practical and scalable operating models.
  • High data literacy including analysing client financial and performance data to generate actionable insights and clear business signals.
  • Experience in business performance reporting (GF/NF by channel country product) and partnering with Finance on planning and cost oversight.
  • Proven capability in governance and risk management including designing and monitoring 1st Line Risk KPIs.
  • Skilled in Salesforce adoption workflow optimisation and driving consistent client visibility and interaction logging.
  • Demonstrated success operating within complex global or matrixed environments ideally within asset management or financial services.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholdermanagement skills able to simplify complexity and build strong crossfunctional relationships.
  • Highly collaborative solutionsoriented and commercially minded with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Adaptable and resilient comfortable managing multiple priorities and leading organisational connectivity across Client Service Marketing Finance HR and COO networks.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate workshops offsites and initiatives that support team cohesion and performance.
