- Assists the Activities Coordinator with the development and execution of the activity calendars that supports all aspects of Well-Being: physical social emotional vocational intellectual environmental and spiritual.
- Oversees residents engaged in scheduled activities to promote the physical social vocational emotional and intellectual aspects of residents by applying experience in activities and knowledge of diagnoses and conditions of residents.
- Provides set-up and assistance with daily activities to include crafts programs exercise musical programs sensory stimulation reminiscence projects religious events movies games trivia parties etc. as necessary.
- Makes routine 1:1 visits with residents especially those who choose to engage in self-directed leisure pursuits or to remain in their room.
- Maintains required documentation of resident response and performance during recreational activities.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one (1) year of Therapeutic Recreation or in human services field preferred (through volunteer work internship or paid experience); experience with geriatric residents in a long-term care setting preferred.
