Founded in 1998 with the specific mission of providing integrated ecological and engineering consulting services Princeton Hydro offers mission-driven expertise in natural resource management water resources engineering geotechnical design and investigation and regulatory compliance.
Were looking for a detailoriented proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a parttime basis (approximately 25 hours per week) in our Trenton NJ headquarters. This role supports core accounting functions and vendor management. The ideal candidate is organized comfortable juggling multiple responsibilities and eager to build structure around recurring tasks.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Manage AP and Purchase Journal posting ensuring accuracy and timely entry.
- Process permit payments primarily supporting field operations.
- Set up and maintain new vendor accounts including collecting and reviewing W9s COIs and other required documentation; develop and maintain a vendor onboarding checklist.
- Post monthly journal entries such as rent draws and other recurring items.
- Set up and manage recurring payments through various vendor portals.
- Post pesticide notification invoicing and manage associated documentation: update binders match affidavits to notices and maintain organized records.
- Assist with AR delinquency analysis including learning and applying new processes to monitor and report on outstanding accounts.
EDUCATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in accounting bookkeeping and administrative operations.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with structured processes.
- Ability to manage recurring tasks while also improving workflows.
- Familiarity with vendor portals journal entries and AR/AP processes.
- Willingness to learn new systems (including Unanet).
- Reliable organized and able to work independently.
- Associates degree in accounting finance or related field preferred.
