Job Summary
We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Hillingdon to assist with the appointment of a Decant Officer on a 1.5-months contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 21.98 - 29.00 per hour
Summary:
The Decant Officer is a key member of a multi-disciplinary regeneration hub within the London Borough of Hillingdon. The primary purpose of this role is to own and deliver an end-to-end decant service for all tenancy types on designated regeneration estates including managing the return of tenants. This involves the dynamic management of a challenging time-critical caseload to ensure the Councils strategic objectives of providing new affordable homes in safe well-managed settings are met. The officer acts as a hands-on practitioner ensuring residents are well-supported and their needs are addressed as an integral part of the relocation process.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and issue statutory notices as directed and process Home Loss and Disturbance payments in line with operational practice
- Undertake ongoing housing needs surveys to ensure accurate data supports the decant programme
- Assist vulnerable households who struggle with the practical demands of decanting helping them make difficult decisions regarding relocation.
- Identify cost-effective changes and service improvements within the regeneration hub.
Essentials:
- Proven experience delivering customer-focused housing services within a busy social housing setting
- Demonstrable experience managing demanding caseloads involving tenants with varying needs and vulnerabilities.
- Experience managing data securely undertaking surveys and utilizing ICT systems like Word Excel and case management software
- A good understanding of the landlord and tenant relationship and the specific duties associated with decanting tenants
- Practical understanding of lone working risks and the ability to respond appropriately to vulnerability

- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires a Basic DBS
