- Job Purpose:
This position will lead all aluminium scrap purchase sourcing strategy and aluminium recycling solutions for the west region of India. This includes sourcing from all scrap dealers customer scrap and developing yards to collect and process aluminium scrap. This position will also be responsible for income generated from scrap traded and sale of any process scrap generated from cleaning/sorting including dust copper brass etc. from yards. Individual maintains a strong network and relationship to have in-depth understanding of regional market dynamics supply/demand and pricing. Individual is responsible to meet the budgeted cost and volume targets for the region including the mix of post-industrial and post-consumer scrap. The role should also develop local partnerships for scrap collection processing and transport. |

- Ensure safe handling loading/unloading and transportation of scrap to prevent injuries spills or equipment damage.

Sustainability | - Ensure that scrap is sourced from ethical legal and environmentally compliant sources.
- Drive enrichment of sourcing mix by increasing the proportion of post-consumer and closed-loop scrap.
- Drive end-to-end compliance supplier audits and transparency by ensuring reliable sustainability data for disclosures and adherence to regulatory certification and reporting norms at all sourcing locations.
- Engage effectively with the management regulators communities suppliers and customers.
- Ensure timely recording of data in terms of price trends vendor performance logistics and quality
- Lead evaluation onboarding and regularly reviewing supplier performance and compliance in the region
- Implement best practices in yard management including safety inventory control and environmental compliance.

- Regularly benchmark global and regional scrap prices to stay competitive
- Optimize freight modes route planning loading efficiency & logistics to control inbound logistics costs.
- Align scrap purchase price with estimated recovery to ensure profitability

Customer Centricity | - Collaborate with internal/ external stakeholders (plant tolling partner customers purchase finance primary sales downstream business) for efficient scrap sourcing from scrap dealers and customers
- Lead development of close-loop customer solutions in the region
- Source diverse types of scrap to support custom alloys low-carbon aluminium or other differentiated products based on customer needs.
- Drive initiatives in the region to promote Hindalco in sustainable recycling and circular economy solutions.
- Lead supply of desired quality scrap from the region to downstream operations
- Ensure adherence to customer norms in scrap sourcing (e.g. traceability EPR etc.)
- Managing disputes related to weighment scrap quality payments etc. with the vendors

Systems / Process / People | - Leverage Hindalco systems support in development of digital tools and drive implementation in scrap sourcing and yard operations in the region
- Optimize scrap sourcing across yards collection centre customers and direct purchases from scrap dealers
- Support development and adherence to standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for scrap procurement quality inspection and logistics coordination.
- Develop dashboards and reports to track KPIs such as cost per ton scrap mix ratio and vendor contribution.
- Timely review and update KPI and critical performance parameters for the region
- Develop new systems and share know-how with other regions to build a continuous improvement culture
- Team building develop capabilities in negotiation and scrap vendor mapping and mentoring
