Job Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Act as primary legal support for assigned business units and subsidiaries utilizing broad experience relationships and judgment skills.
2. Identify research and manage legal issues related to business needs.
3. Advise internal clients through legal memoranda or otherwise on legal issues and collaborate to make decisions as to how to proceed using legal and business knowledge.
4. Create review and revise business agreements company policies and other documents.
5. Oversee litigation matters.
6. Identify and manage relationships and workflow with external counsel.
7. Supervise and mentor other staff in the Legal Department as required.
8. Model teach and apply SEL Values Principles of Operations and World Class Manufacturing principles.
9. Understand. Create. Simplify.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Juris Doctorate from an accredited school of law

Admission as an Australian Lawyer eligible to practice in Victoria with a current practicing certificate (or eligibility to obtain one) issued by the Victorian Legal Services Board Commissioner.

Six or more years of experience practicing law
Demonstrated expertise in applicable areas of law which may include corporate contracts employment intellectual property and/or international among others
Positive attitude
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent research and writing skills
Excellent communication skills

Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

Demonstrated ability to work individually and cooperatively in a team environment
