The Marketing & Ads Strategic Analytics team delivers advanced analytics measurement and decision support for Best Buys Marketing and Retail Media Network organizations. This role focuses on audience management CRM analytics and broader customerbehavior insights that shape key marketing and RMN strategies.As a Decision Scientist you will lead sophisticated analyses build analytical frameworks and deliver highimpact insights that influence decisionmaking across the organization. Youll partner closely with CRM RMN Data Science and other crossfunctional teams to deepen customer understanding and improve marketing effectiveness.This role is hybrid which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield Minnesota and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.What youll doProblem Framing & Analytical Strategy- Collaborate across CRM Retail Media Data Operations and Advanced Machine Learning teams to clarify business questions form hypotheses and turn ambiguous problems into structured analytical approaches and frameworks.
- Scope manage and deliver complex analytics projects while identifying new opportunities to enhance audience strategy customer engagement and marketing performance.
Advanced Analytics & Data Science Execution- Conduct robust quantitative analyses (descriptive analytics hypothesis testing causal inference) and maintain welldocumented analytical code in SQL Python and R to extract transform and analyze data across multiple sources.
- Evaluate and optimize audience and communication strategies by identifying performance drivers improvement opportunities and ensuring accurate consistent management of the audience catalog aligned to business goals.
Insight Delivery & Influence- Translate complex analytical findings into actionable recommendations and compelling narratives through dashboards reports and executivelevel presentations tailored to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Basic Qualifications- 3 or more years applying analytical and statistical techniques to business questions
- 1 or more years leveraging advanced data and visualization tools (e.g. SQL Python/R Tableau/Power BI/Looker)
- 1 or more years of experience conducting statistical significance testing
- Bachelors degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Statistics Mathematics Economics Engineering Data Science Marketing Business)
Preferred Qualifications- 1 or more years in Marketing Advertising CRM or audience analytics
- Demonstrated success influencing crossfunctional partners and shaping business decisions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex analyses into impactful recommendations
- Advanced relationshipbuilding and stakeholdermanagement capabilities
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Strong project management and prioritization skills
- Experience presenting insights to senior leaders
- Masters degree in a quantitative or analytical field
