Role Overview
The Incident Management Engineer is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end Incident Management process to ensure timely restoration of services that support mission-critical aerospace operations. This role coordinates responses to high-priority incidents minimizes operational disruptions drives effective communication with stakeholders and ensures adherence to ITIL best practices. The Incident Manager works closely with engineering cybersecurity operations and program teams to maintain service continuity and support operational readiness across complex regulated environments.
The Ideal Candidate:
Performs calmly and decisively under pressure especially during high-impact or safety-related incidents.
Strong Flight Deck knowledge and expertise to drive continuous improvements
Communicates clearly and efficiently with technical teams leadership and customers.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in information technology Engineering Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience).
3 years of experience in Incident Management or related ITSM disciplines.
Deep understanding of ITIL v4 (or v3) frameworks specifically incident and major incident processes.
Understands regulatory requirements and the sensitivity of systems used in aerospace/defense missions.
Excels at coordinating cross-functional teams and leading incident response bridges.
Has a strong sense of ownership urgency and accountability for restoring services.
Brings strong documentation skills and a mindset for continuous improvement.
Experience coordinating incidents across on-premise cloud and hybrid infrastructures used in aerospace and defense systems.
Experience leading major incident bridges and coordinating multiple resolver groups.
Proficiency with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow)
Strong analytical communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
ITIL Foundation certification or higher-level ITIL certifications.
Experience supporting aerospace aviation defense or similarly regulated environments.
Familiarity with operational compliance standards such as CMMC.
Experience in environments using monitoring observability or event correlation tools.
Background in service restoration root cause containment or recovery planning.
Experience producing Post-Incident Reports (PIRs/PSRs) and driving follow-up corrective actions.
