Job Title: MRI Technologist
Location: Elmhurst NY 11373
Department: Radiology / Diagnostic Imaging
Schedule: Monday Friday 12:00 AM 8:00 AM 35 Hours per Week
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Alternating weekends and holidays
Training: 2 weeks (9:00 AM 5:00 PM) including EMR system training

The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and maintaining diagnostic imaging standards in a fast-paced acute care environment.
This role involves operating MRI equipment preparing patients for imaging procedures and collaborating with radiologists and healthcare teams to deliver accurate diagnostic results.
Perform MRI scans and imaging procedures according to physician orders and established protocols.
Ensure high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Position patients correctly and operate MRI equipment efficiently to obtain accurate images.
Screen patients for MRI safety compliance and contraindications prior to procedures.
Monitor patients during imaging procedures and respond to any safety concerns.
Provide clear instructions and reassurance to patients before and during scans.
Operate and maintain MRI equipment and imaging systems in accordance with department protocols.
Identify and report equipment issues to appropriate technical teams.
Follow established quality assurance and imaging standards.
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Ensure compliance with radiology department policies safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
Minimum 1 year of MRI experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
Experience operating MRI imaging equipment (GE equipment experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of MRI safety protocols and imaging procedures.
Excellent patient care and communication skills.
Associates Degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Valid Radiologic Technologist License issued by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
Current MRI certification and registration from one of the following:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association.
