The Opportunity:
Were looking for an intern to join our Enterprise Risk Management team for a 4-month opportunity. The Enterprise Risk Management team supports Vancity by overseeing operational resilience including Business Continuity Management crisis readiness and emergency preparedness. This role sits within the Business Continuity Management program and reports into Enterprise Risk Management with dayâtoâday guidance and support from the BCM team.
A typical day would involve:
- Supporting updates to Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) by coordinating inputs with business lines and ensuring complete accurate documentation in the BCM platform
- Participating in all BCM and resilience activities including planning coordination and execution of tabletop exercises such as FIFA scenarios and critical infrastructure events (e.g. transformer replacement scenarios)
- Tracking BCM testing activities document outcomes and capture lessons learned to support continuous improvement
- Maintaining dashboards and reporting trackers for BCM metrics testing status and governance reporting
- Assisting with branch Emergency Preparedness compliance tracking including fire drills emergency wardens and emergency kits
- Helping develop awareness materials and internal communications related to business continuity and emergency preparedness collaborating with branch teams business units Risk Facilities and Corporate Security

- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program within an applicable field and eligible for co-op/internship opportunities
- An interest in financial services or regulated environments
- Experience with process improvement and data tracking
- Familiarity with Excel SharePoint or Power BI
- A willingness to work in a highly flexible environment with multiple competing priorities.
- Excellent written and visual communications
- A high level of attention to detail
Bonus points if you have:
- An interest in enterprise risk management or operational resilience
- Exposure to risk management business continuity emergency management crisis management or compliance concepts
- Experience with documentation tracking logs or dashboards
- Knowledge of governance policy and regulatory programs
- Strong written communication skills
What Youll Earn:
This role offers a pay range of $27.85/hr.
